Dr. Harold Dawley, Jr, Ph.D., ABPP, Clinical Psychologist and
Publisher
Dr. Dawley is a licensed clinical psychologist and director of the Wellness Institute, Inc., a New Orleans based private for profit social service agency. He is also the author of five self-help books and has extensive experience in the use of self-help books with clients and patients (bibliotherapy).
Previously Dr. Dawley has served:
- as president of the Division of Psychologists in Public Service 18) of the American Psychological Association, and elected an APA fellow in 1978.
- 23 years on the staff of the New Orleans V.A. Medical Center.
- as president of the National Association of V.A. Psychologists.
- 8 years on the clinical faculty of the Department of Pathology, Louisiana State University Medical School.
- 11 years on the clinical faculty of the Department of Medicine, Tulane University School of Medicine
- 20 years on the clinical faculty of the Department of Psychiatry and Neurology, Tulane University Medical School
- 9 years on the Adjunct faculty, Department of Allied Sciences, Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine

Joel Block, Ph.D., ABPP - Creative Development
Dr. Block is a licensed clinical psychologist who practices marital and individual psychotherapy in
Plainview, NY. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Block has varied professional interests that
have led to consulting and research activities on problems ranging from weight control to
delinquent behavior. He is the author of nine self-help books. His role with Selfhelpbooks.com
is that of creative development. In this regard, he will
draw upon his extensive experience as a successful
self-help book author to generate new and novel
self-help books titles and to recruit talent to
produce them. He also assists in reviewing new book
submissions.

Jennifer Gisbson, Ph.D. Research and Development
Jennifer received a Ph.D. in developmental psychology from
the University of New Orleans. She has experience in assessment
and research methodology. Her responsibilities include information
research and data retrieval. She also assists in reviewing books in
the area of education and developmental psychology. |
